An Easter Egg Hunt

I saw everyone’s eyes light up like Christmas lights and the smiles on their faces

On Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 it was a beautiful afternoon. I was on lunch and decided to sit outside for some fresh air because I was feeling kind of sad that day. As I was sitting there, a classroom of kids came out for an Easter egg hunt. Before that I had watched the teacher hide the eggs. I saw the most amazing thing happen: one particular student, I don’t know his name, was very eager to find the Easter eggs. At first, I thought to myself, this might be very challenging for all of them. Boy did they fool me. I believe this boy found ten Easter eggs in all. I saw everyone’s eyes light up like Christmas lights and the smiles on their faces as they searched for the eggs. It warmed my heart that day to see our students with Autism have an Easter egg hunt. As I watched them, I forgot why I was sad. I walked away with a smile on my face. I believe this will be one of the moments at Easter Seals Therapeutic School in Chicago that I will never forget. Thank you for all that you do here at Easter Seals.
